~FAQ~

-Character Questions-

How many characters can I play?
For now, there will be a limit of 5 character slots per player. Should we ever get a larger playerbase, this may increase.

Can I have multiple characters from the same canon?
The answer to this is currently no. With a small playerbase, and likely a small number number of characters, there's too much risk of playercest. Even if the characters wouldn't have all that much reason to interact in the first place.

What about duplicates?
As long as they're not from the same series, this is okay. A good example of this would be Cloud from Final Fantasy VII. Someone else could bring in the version of Cloud from the Kingdom Hearts series.

What about AU versions?
Maybe? In the case of an AU that isn't canon, please leave a post in your journal or profile detailing the differences between the AU and canon.

What about crossover AUs and in-canon OCs?
Sure. Like if you wanted to AU a Tales of character in one of the other games' settings, or you wanted to play a customizable protagonist such as the Dragonborn from Skyrim, those are fine.

My character is from an established universe but isn't a canon OC and doesn't have much of a personality/background established. What now?
That's fine! Just treat it like a canon OC using your best judgement and using all available canon resources to play them as IC as possible. Examples of these are Vocaloids, Team Fortress 2, and characters from the Pokémon games.

My character is in another RP and I'd like to app from there. Can I do that?
Sure. But as with AUs, please have a post or something detailing what this entails, and any changes that may have happened to the character.

Can I app a character that is obviously not human (such as a talking wolf or a Pokemon)?
Of course! Just...be reasonable. You can't play a fish flopping about on land or something like that. You also have the option of humanizing your character.

Can I app someone who has died?
Yes. Whether or not they keep anything from their cause of death is up to you.

Can I app a god?
Yes, but only interpretations from established canons. Sorry to say, you can't just come and app Jesus. Also, please keep in mind that they probably won't be able to get their godly powers back.

My character has Pokemon/Digimon/pets. Can they come too?
To start, no. However, receiving them back as a result of a wish is totally possible.

My character has a yami or other alter ego, can they come?
See the above question, though not bringing them and letting someone else app them instead may have fun possibilities too. Characters that share their bodies can still do so if two muns play them and want that, or be separate from the start.

I have a vampire/gargoyle/etc. that is affected by sunlight/moonlight/etc or the time of day. Are they still affected?
To start, no. When characters arrive they are totally human. However, they can get their original bodies/species back by wishing for them.

I'm having trouble getting interaction on the community, what should I do?
Feel free to poke other players to plot or whatnot? Some might be a bit timid, but it's doubtful that anyone's going to bite you.

-In Game Questions-

How do characters arrive?
See here for details.

Do characters have their belongings/powers when they arrive?
Only what they had on their person from where they've been taken from. Phones and whatnot will still power on and whatnot, but they won't have any service. Nor will they be able to recharge unless someone manages to harness the power of electricity or something.

Character powers are removed upon entering the World. However, they can be regained by wishing for them.

What language will my character(s) speak?
By default, all characters will begin speaking a sort of common language. However, if you want to, you can just as easily switch back to speaking your native language if you don't want anyone to understand you.

Also, characters in the Illusionary World will be able to communicate by consciously focusing and sending their thoughts to others. Sort of a form of telepathy.

My character is a being which doesn't naturally speak. How will that work?
While they can always wish for the ability to do so in the future, they'll still be able to communicate by sending their thoughts to other characters.

My character had an incident in their canon that caused/born with an inability to speak at all. How will that work?
See the above question!

How will I know which language is being used?
By default, everyone is speaking a common language. To denote another language, please use italics, or some other form of marking that it's different. It also helps if you note as such at the bottom of the post.

Thoughtspeak is ONLY in the common language. Please keep that in mind.

How do characters communicate?
By speaking/gesturing/thinking to each other! While there is no network in the game as of now, it's possible one could be introduced in the future.

Where do I post character entries?
All character posts go to the main community - [community profile] orbem_illusio.

Where can characters stay?
Ushio's more than willing to allow characters to sleep on the floor at her house for now. But you'll eventually be able to get your own houses/mansions/penthouses/whatever eventually if you wish for them.

I suppose you could also sleep outside, but it gets awfully cold!

What else can my character do?
Pretty much whatever they want! Explore, sit around and twiddle their thumbs, troll people, try to take over the world, be creative.

What happens if my character dies?
Well, they can't die! Characters can be injured, get sick, and whatever, but a lethal blow or anything that would kill them instead brings them back into Ushio's house, good as new!

Characters will also never feel hungry or thirsty unless food and water enter the World.

-World Questions-

What is the Illusionary World?
The Illusionary World is an empty world/dimension parallel to every other world due to one girl's wish to not be alone. While it's fairly desolate for the time being, that can change. Wishes have the power to shape the world.

So my character loses their memory like Ushio, right?
That's up to the player! Characters can enter the world with their memories fully intact, or they can forget everything they once knew. If they do lose their memories, you still have to play them IC. They still have a semblance of who they are, they just don't know why they are who they are. Memories can also be regained by wishing for them.

So. All this stuff about wishes. Can I wish for anything?
Yes and no! You can wish for just about everything and anything you can think of. An ice cream cone, a power from home, your Pokémon, your memories, a new addition to the scenery, use your imagination!

However, there are things that cannot be wished for.
-Character deaths
-To go home
-To bring other characters into the World
-God powers

So how do I make a wish?
By collecting Orbs of Light! Once you have enough of them, you'll glow and feel like you can do anything. Then you can make your wish. You don't even have to speak. It just has to be something you really desire in your heart. If you just want something halfheartedly, it won't come true. The glow won't fade either, until you make a true wish.

1. The Light orbs will only do exactly what's asked, nothing more, nothing less. In the flashback arc when Misae asks Katsuki to love her forever, he turns back into his original form, which is a cat. Katsuki then follows Misae around in this form. Had Misae known that Katsuki was a cat she probably could have asked that Katsuki love her forever as a human. The need for specificity when wishing also manifests itself when Tomoya asks for Nagisa and Ushio to return to life. The orbs grant his wish, but to do it they bring him all the way back to the time that Nagisa gave birth to Ushio, leaving him with a set of memories of the previous timeline.

2. Wishes are only granted if they're genuinely wanted. Katsuki can't use his wish to get the rain to stop falling on him, because it was not a genuine wish from his heart. The first time that Nagisa died, Tomoya, who had a chance to bring his wife back from the dead, (who has a second chance later on) instead wished that he had never met Nagisa. The wish wasn't granted because it wasn't a genuine desire in Tomoya's heart.

3. You cannot wish for another character's death or injury, or something negative like that. Also, you cannot wish for god powers for fairly obvious reasons. No, you can't wish to go home either. The orbs of light represent happiness. Wishes must represent that in some way. Missing part of yourself, your powers, or maybe that trinket you've had since you're a child? That's fine. Wish there was a beautiful lake? A library filled with books? Some power you've always wanted? Granted. The things you can wish for are nearly limitless.

How do I get these Orbs of Light?
In order to receive an Orb of Light, you must do something that makes you truly happy or do something that makes someone else truly happy.
